Pastor Thomas Skaria (Life Focus Society) takes us through a brief look at Daniel’s life and the excellence of his spirit. Daniel lived some time during the Babylonian exile of Judah – 605 to 536 BC. He was among the captives who were taken to Babylon for their excellence in learning and wisdom. Sure enough Daniel and his friends surpassed all those in the King’s palace. How did they live and survive as God’s people in pagan culture? Four things stand out:
- Daniel and his friends did not outrightly reject the foreign culture they were in.
- Daniel embraced work in a hostile environment and he excelled at it
- Daniel displays an excellent spirit so that they could not find fault with him. He saw his work as a means to glorify God.
- Daniel held fast to his convictions
Listen to this sermon to see how Daniel honoured the Lord through his life and work living in a culture and environment that was hostile to God and His people.
