In John 6:37 the Lord Jesus says, “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.” The Lord Jesus perseveres in His love for us and those who come to Him in faith, He will never cast out, no matter what.
Further, we see the heart of God in Hosea 11:8–9. He says, “How can I give you up, O Ephraim? How can I hand you over, O Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? My heart recoils within me; my compassion grows warm and tender. [9] I will not execute my burning anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim; for I am God and not a man, the Holy One in your midst, and I will not come in wrath.” This reveals how God’s heart in Christ is drawn to us even in the midst of our sin. Even though Israel was bent on turning away from Him, He could never give up His people.
We also see that Christ’s present ministry is to intercedes (Hebrews 7:25) and advocates (1 John 2:1) for His people. This too reveals the gracious heart of Christ for His people.
