Last week we looked at 2 truths that should under gird your view of money and how you give. Two foundations if you like. They are that God owns everything you own – the implication being that we are stewards or managers and not ultimately owners. Secondly, giving is an act of worship. We worship God through our giving because in generous giving we demonstrate that money is not our god and that we are wholly dependent on the one true God.
This morning we will look at four more principles of giving found in the Bible.
- Giving should be motivated by love not legalism
- Give wilfully, thankfully and cheerfully
- Our Giving is God’s way of meeting the needs of people
- Generous giving will result in bountiful blessing
