When we think of the resurrection of Christ, we usually celebrate it as a historical event. Or we think of the resurrection as relevant to the future effect it has on our own resurrection. How we will one day be raised to eternal life because Jesus rose again. Both these are legitimate ways to remember and celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. But is there any relevance to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, for this life? Does it have any effect on the way we live now?
We take a look at the way the resurrection of Jesus Christ filled the disciples with courage, conviction and compassion. That effect has continued through the history of the church on the people of God and it ought to change the way we live today. We are called to live as people of courage in the face of opposition, conviction concerning the gospel of Christ, and compassion for the world.
(This sermon was preached at DBF Dwarka in the morning and at the Cathedral Church of Redemption in the evening. This is a recording of the evening service).
