The Bible reveals the devil to be a real person who hates God and is actively working in the world to target God’s people. 1 Peter 5:8 speaks of the devil as our adversary prowling around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But the Bible also tells us that Christ Jesus has defeated the Devil through the Cross. We are therefore no longer under condemnation, but are the children of God, clothed in the righteousness of Christ.
